Xenotherus by ParadigmSlide Xenotherus by ParadigmSlide
It lays parasitic eggs with its tongue, although these parasites are more an extension of its own body than offspring. Its leathery hide has tough bony plates underneath, making it difficult to kill with conventional weapons. An overpressure 9mm Luger Bullet can do the trick, but it requires a point-blank shot. Shotguns are better, provided they're loaded with slugs instead of buckshot.
The plates lay beneath a layer of fat, making them invisible to the person viewing the creature. This also helps further decelerate damage. Despite being difficult to harm with firearms, crushing and stabbing weapons are still effective, although they will take a while.
